We will sign some forms, decide how you will communicate what services are provided for each client, and look through your financial agreements to make sure you are set up for insurance billing. If you have access to any insurance portals, you will add our biller as a biller/administrator. After that, we handle the rest of the claim submission- we create the bills, submit them, and communicate with the client and their insurance throughout the process. Insurance payments are sent to either you or the client. When insurance payments are sent to you, we will provide you with a statement showing how it should be applied to your client's payment plan or reimbursed.
We have a professional coder on our team! We use the latest ICD 10 and CPT coding to make sure that the services you provide are professionally coded for billing. This will save you time and earn you more money! And our coding services are covered by the flat fee for billing.
Insurance billing isn't something to take lightly. Insurance fraud, whether by accident or intentional, can ruin a midwife's career. Choose a biller with integrity, one that understands the laws of medical billing and is open with you about what they are billing and how they are doing it. Some red flags would be that the biller determines the amount to bill, insurance is billed more than the client, the biller is difficult to communicate with, and the biller has never looked at the financial agreements you have with clients.
Before we begin billing for you, we always make sure that you are set up for us to legally bill insurance, and have adequate documentation in case of an audit. We can also provide you with an annual internal audit of the billing practices.
